CCHackney Primavera Circuit Race 3 - 9th May 2015 - Report, results and photo gallery.
The last of our spring circuit races took place in blustery conditions at Lea Valley Velopark circuit on Saturday 9th May 2015. We ran all races anti-clockwise which seemed to be the preferred route for the seniors too - never mind the headwind on the finishing straight. The Cat 3 4 race was again the biggest field of riders and they weren't for hanging around. The fast pace meant anyone dropping off the back were quickly distanced coming into the headwind. This meant that come the shake up at 5 laps to go there were only thirty plus riders left in the bunch, the remainder were pulled out before the bell so as to not impede the sprint finish. Jumping off the front in the finishing straight CCH rider Dimitri Demishev won by a couple of bike lengths from Buauna Ball of Zappis racing team with Andrew Harrison bringing in the rest of the bunch.
In contrast the E12 and women's E1234 had a grand total of seven riders. Undaunted they opted to race and whilst they flying round the circuit a quick read of the rule book by Harry revealed they could still compete for points. Adam Cotterell of Windy Milla won the men's race in a sprint whilst Clemence Copie of Pearl Izumi Sports Tour took the honours in the women's race.
Forty plus riders started the Youth A B race with the instructions that if a B rider wanted to ride with the As then they could instead of trying to keep the bunches separate. Adam Colbert of Ipswich BC edged out the bunch to win the A boys with Anna Carter of LVYCC winning the girls A and Nesta Ferguson, again from Lvycc winning the boys B race.
Barking and Dagenham CC put on a great display in the youth C race with four of the top five finishers but were beaten to 1st spot by Luke Prenelle of LVYCC.Rosie Dias won the C girls race. Owen Prenelle had obviously inspired his brother to the win by winning the Youth D and Carys Lloyd also LVYCC won the D girls. In the Youth E races Henry Hobbs and Tulsi Bakrania were the winners. Thanks once again to all those club members and friends who volunteered their time and saturday morning to make the race happen.
